The Dr. Bares Award is one of the mostprestigious international awards in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology, supporting top-level scientific research and clinical practice. Of the 70 professional papers submitted from 11 countries, 33 have advanced to the international round. The winners, who will share a total financial prize of EUR 29,000, will be selected by a six-member panel of experts in early March 2026.
The pharmaceutical company PRO.MED.CS Praha a.s. announced the 17th edition of the Dr. Bares Award Publication for 2025, aimed at supporting medical and scientific knowledge in clinical practice. The Dr. Bares Award has a long-standing tradition and has usually been held at two-year intervals since 1993.
A total of 70 scientific papers from 11 countries were accepted for the 17th edition of the competition. Based on evaluations by independent reviewers – respected scientists and physicians in their respective countries – 33 of the best papers advanced to the international round. These come from Azerbaijan, Belarus, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Uzbekistan. On 7 March 2026, a meeting of the international Dr. Bares Award jury will take place, comprising six independent leading experts in gastroenterology and hepatology. Subsequently, on 8 March 2026, the three winners of the 17th edition of the Dr. Bares Award will be announced. They will share a total financial prize of EUR 29,000.
